Potéakh {Psalm 145:16, Book of Psalms} ~ Second Chakra: Svadisthana
In this Prayer, we acknowledge Divine generosity, and praise Nature for the fulfillment of our needs and wishes. This Prayer in particular is often symbolized by opening our hands as a gesture of imitating God's generosity to those in need. As we are all in need in various ways at various times and at various levels throughout our lives, this beautiful Prayer shares thoughtful sentiments and expressions of our gratefulness for all we receive.
The second chakra, Svadisthana, is located in our pelvic region and is mostly concerned with our desires, needs and wishes. These desires range from basic biological needs through to our grandest wishes. It is from this chakra that energies seeking pleasures, fantasies and even obsessions may enter our awareness. A balancing of this chakra leads us to move away from some possible negative, selfish emotions (which can include greed, envy, or seeking others as sources of fulfillment) and instead turn our eyes and heart toward an awareness of the abundance we already have, and feel a deep gratitude for the fulfillment already present. This often then frees us to focus upon our own creativity, mindful and artistic endeavors. Once illuminated, the Svadisthana can guide inspired artists, writers, musicians, dancers, and innovators of many styles to great levels!
